Temporary Fields Ave stalls to be removed on May 10

The vendor stalls that have returned, after approval from city hall, on the parking spaces on the Clark-bordered side of the entertainment district will be removed on May 10.

The city hall feels that the stalls have not kept to agreements such as the number of stalls that were allowed as well as the fact that the stall owners were taking up more space than they should have.

The parking section will be cleaned up again and the stalls will be given alternative locations to squat on.

The decision of undoing the cleanup received significant criticism both from residents and tourist-oriented businesses along the area as well as from CDC who felt that the cleanup initiative was a step in the positive direction. Nearly 95% of angelescity.com readers agreed.

@Marty: I dont know why you get so upset with Casual Tourist. What he said is true, and even today the 12th the stalls are still there. I was always told dont judge a man on what he says, judge him on what he does, and this time the Mayor has not followed up on his promise.

@goodmanners: Looks like the vocal minority are once again raising their ugly heads, or just head in your case. Do you really think that the tourists would come and spend their time and money in Angeles if the bars were not here.The funds these tourist spend goes all over the country from the girls who help support their families. If the bars were not here would you support these families.Of course not. Many girls have bettered their and their families lives after meeting their husbands in the bar.

It is a shame that she or it would try to destroy a site promoting AC as a good inverstment location, as well as information as to the current "news" and spouting BS and innuendos. It is sad. @rivet: I agree with Andy,if you dont like Angeles City the way it is then why dont you just move away. Most people who live here say that it is great. It seems that now we have a vocal minority who are trying to change it. Its these vocal minority groups that have the world in the mess it is in. So shut up or go somewhere else.

calling the attention of brgy. balibago please pls. investigate the on-going prostitution to the bars , pls investigate the barfine or front early release receipt means if the girl had 10 ladys drink. paid by the customer, she's free to go anywer she wants, the truth is the exchange of ten ladys drink is she wil be take-out mandatory to a foreing customer,pls close all bars using this method it only give bad image to your growing tourist area.

important update for abac members only. i have been informed that the composite team is presently on is way to angelesfrom manila to act uponinformation supplied by the international mission group re minors inour bars.make sure that there are no minors in the bar or unlicense staff.all expat owners managers take the night off you wil be the prime target if minors found. if i get the targeted bars i shall contact them direct or the plate numbers of the car involved.what is this message ?

hope the angeles city goverment clean up initiative operations is to priority the complete eradication of on going prostitution along adult entertainment factor on fields.this only gives the city a bad image, we knew in your 1st one hundred days in the office. the city receives a order to eradicate the ongoing prostitutions and humantrafficking in the area.

GOODMANNERS - If the city and government were to try and eradicate the Adult Entertainment Industry on fields ave, you may as well bulldoze the entire city and plant rice in efforts to take advantage of rising food commodities markets. The Adult Entertainment factor on fields is the central nervous system of Angeles city's tourism market, foreign investment, and local job market. If you eradicate this element for better moral fiber of the people, the fallout would be catastrophic financially.

@goodmanners: Goodmanners - I think it's funny you are calling the adult entertainment factor in A.City "mine". When really it is yours (filipino's) The money that floods into this area from THAT industry is a major factor to the local economy. I'm not saying I support the idea, or that I believe that it is right or wrong, I'm just stating the facts. If your concerned about under-age participants, then maybe the government needs to develop a better I.D. system in the licensed drinking establishments.

It would be nice to get rid of the illegal squallters on both sides of the roads. Those that are unlicensed and squatting in rightful free parking areas, and those setting up on the sidewalks, which prevents people from using them. Although even with the sidewalks empty there are those to lazy to use them and prefer to wander down the middle of the streets obstructing traffic as well as just walking in front of vehicles driving down the roadways. To bad they can't control the beggars and pests.

Just another failure of the current Lord Mayor. Instead of praising his successes, lets look at his failures. 1. Walking Street had more motor vehicle traffic on Monday night, than top end of Fields Av. 2. Street Vendors still selling viagra and cialis which are "controlled drugs". 3. Door girls back to their old tricks of physically grabing customers off the street to go into their bars, 4.Street kids are back again. 10:00pm Friday night. And where are the Tourist Police?

hope the its not true! as per agreement thecdc stall owners they followed the given size of the city and stil had enough parking for customers,photo showed is only 1 sided, why dont you show other side, tourist oriented busineses along the area they violated their setback requirements from margarita up to bluenile near mcdo. hope clean up initiative wil priority to investigate this,dig your own parking dont get other busineses parking.
