Flying V to pioneer solar powered gasoline stations in Clark and Subic
Saturday, March 19
Independent oil player Flying V will pioneer an innovation in the petrol industry by establishing solar-powered gasoline stations and its pilot areas will be Clark Freeport Zone and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Ramiro Villavicencio, who is the project proponent director of the solar-powered gas station, said they plan to start it in the mid-second quarter of this year. This advocacy, he said, is in support of clean and alternative energy, which is in line with the government’s Clean Air Act.
It is but one way the oil player is trying to change the mind-set of the Filipino people on how to be more conscious about our environment, Villavicencio added.
The solar-powered gas stations will be equipped with solar panels that energize approximately 25 percent of its electric consumption, minimizing carbon footprints. The pilot stations will also have self-service pumps, which are targeted to give consumers cheaper fuel.
