Bale Matua (Founder’s Residence)
This structure was built in the 1800’s by Don Ángel Pantaleon de Miranda, the founder of Angeles City, and is now a historic site. The ground floor is made of adobe stone and its upper floor, made entirely from wood, has massive sliding louvered windows–the quintessential “bahay-na-bato”, an innovative and authentic Filipino structure developed during the Spanish colonial period.
